We are a group of talented young individuals with many years of experience in production, advertising and documentaries. The production industry seems to be splitting in two directions: large, expensive production houses OR (due to the advent of inexpensive electronics,) someone’s cousin with a video camera and iMovie. This leaves a niche the team at 2 Pop Productions sought to fill – an affordable, professional production team. No man is an island and very few freelancers can make a professional production by themselves: be a producer, director, cameraperson, grip, editor, sound, etcetera, etcetera.  So we banded together a core group of production people who can play on each others’ strengths to complete a production from start to finish. But we can do that without fancy offices and big studios, which translates into lower overhead and thus more affordable productions.

We can manage all aspects of your production: shooting, editing, even talent. For what we can’t handle in-house, we have a broad net of trusted relationships cast around the city.

We are a very fun and energetic group with core values. The first thing that brings us together is a layer of transparency. We are truthful and honest with each other and our clients and check our egos at the door. The second is a blissful love of production.  You know those “I’d rather be (fill in the blank)” license plates? Well, we’d all rather be in production. As a matter of fact, when we’re not doing production as our day jobs, we’re doing production in our spare time. Three of us have documentary projects as our babies. The forth one has actual babies, and does production to escape. When not in production you are likely to find us cycling, at brew fests, meditating, or doing charity work. We love and are passionate about our work, and when you love your work, it’s just not work.  We’d love to bring that kind of passion in your project, too. 

We have a corporate culture that is very UN-corporate. We’re just a group of people that like to work together. Imagine you got to go to work every day with only people that you like.  Wouldn’t that be cool? We think so! We also like to learn. Many production companies will have you believing that they’ve seen and done it all, but each production is different with new challenges. Yes, we build on the knowledge of the previous, but we relish the learning experiences of the new.

We know our limits….no company is an island either. While our core group is very talented, we haven’t mastered every area of production. If you need your program in 5.1 surround, or translated into Russian, or want an original score, we have people we can call on who are experts. While our specialty is shooting, editing, production management and talent casting, we have access to audio recording facilities (including ISDN, SourceConnect, surround mixing and sweetening), local bands and composers, graphic artists, and even other directors and DPs. 

Finally, we are accessible. Have you tried calling a big production house after hours or your freelance editor at eight in the morning? When you enter a project with us, you will have the entire team’s cell numbers and emails. On the off chance we don’t answer, you will get a prompt return call.
