Chip moved to Portland in 2006 following a ten year career in advertising, PR and journalism. He is a 1993 graduate of Mississippi College where he was one of four graduates inducted into the student hall of fame. In 2001 he was named the Public Relations of Mississippi "Practitioner of the Year." Recently, he premiered his second film Brutal Beauty: Tales of the Rose City Rollers. Previously, he served as Executive Producer/Producer and Music Supervisor of the independently produced and financed documentary Rip City, which premiered at the 2009 X-Dance Film Festival as one of 30 selected entries worldwide. The film received nominations for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Original Music.
He is a former TV and print journalist who has interviewed John McCain, Ted Kennedy, Shelby Foote, Eudora Welty, Gregory Hines, Little Richard, Morgan Freeman, Dale Earnhardt and Tiny Tim in his career.
